Georgina Restaurante: A new classic in Tijuana
Bon vivant and famed tijuanense, Chef Adria Marina travels the world in search of inspiration that can be reflected in each dish that she creates. As a lover for details in food and hospitality, Georgina Restaurant is her latest venture in Tijuana that embodies all of this and more.
As soon as you walk through the doors, the fresh and elegant interiors greet you in all their glory. Deep emerald greens, bright whites, and classic brass touches set the tone of this gorgeous restaurant.
We decided on a dinner date for this visit but found ourselves already planning a brunch trip back, as we were skimming the dinner menu and wine list. We started the evening off with their Crudités and Burrata. I was still running off of a Burrata high from our our visit to La Buvette in Paris, and this definitely kept it going. A pesto mojo set underneath the cheese, and that combined with the crispy chickpeas, slightly tangy citrus sauce, and tomatoes are just heaven. The creamy hummus on the Crudités plate pairs seemingly well with the silky avocado, ripe tomatoes, and other cold veggies in the dish.
Antonio noticed Steak Frites on the menu, and we both knew that that dish was automatically going to end up on the table. The steak is studded with a tahini sauce and bits of serrano chile. Each bite of tender meat had a bit of spice and zesty element to it. My mouth is honestly watering, just reliving that moment. I ordered the fish of the day, pez perico covered in a decadent Béarnaise sauce with crunchy potato slices and dill. The fish was tender, and I could have easily sipped the Béarnaise sauce alone, but it was amazing with the combination of dill, and the perfectly cooked fish.
We knew that we could not resist diving into the sweet end of the menu. If I see bread pudding on a menu, 9 times out of 10, I will be ordering it. It’s a childhood favorite and just one of those warming comfort foods that I can’t seem to let go of. The bread was light and fluffy, with blueberries peeking through, and a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top. Warm carb heavy dessert, with cold components, is one of my all-time favorite things.
Georgina restaurant, you are truly something special. Elegance, comfort, and food that we continue to talk about days later.
