Casa Mayoral: A serene weekend in Valle de Guadalupe
Hello Summer! This is the first summer that Giovanni has officially had a "summer break" from school. The anticipation of trying to fill our days up with new adventures, plenty of outdoor play (while trying to avoid crazy heat waves, of course), cold refreshing drinks, and delicious eats is, constantly in the works.
Although I try to have a bit of a plan most weeks, spontaneous travel is also one of my favorite things to do, and call me crazy, even more so with the little ones in tow! I love packing a suitcase, loading us all up in the car, and driving towards a destination. In this case, we made way to Casa Mayoral in the Valle de Guadalupe.
Casa Mayoral has been on our bucket list, and we were more than thrilled to finally check it off. As we drove down the dusty road, sun gleaming through the windows, it was nice to see a 'new to us', spot to stay in the Valle. Most of our vineyard escapades, consist of day trips, but the chances that we get to stay down there are so wonderful. There is just something so special about watching the sun go down, and the sun come up behind the hillsides down there.
We checked into one of the four cabins on the property. Giovanni always loves to be the one to check out every nook and cranny, telling us just how cool the spot is. The interiors of our cabin are so welcoming, with the warmth of the wood structure, exposed brick, contemporary touches, crisp white bed linens, and large windows that let in a great amount of natural light. The unit is fitted with an air conditioning unit, as well as a ceiling fan, for the warmer days and nights that are beginning to be in full swing during this time of year.
As soon as we walked onto the property, Giovanni and Antonio spotted the hammocks strung between the trees, and made there way in that direction, as Camila made sure to wave at any bird that flew by, and say "guau guau" at each dog bark she heard. Prior to checking in, we filled up with a late lunch at Almazara, so we knew that we were just going to be 'staying in' for the night. At check in, they let you know that they have a lengthy wine list that can be ordered from, with the convenience of enjoying it on your personal back patio at your cabin. As soon as the sun began to set, the kids were tucked into bed, and we got to take in the views, enjoying sips of wine, and chatting about the day that was had.
Casa Mayoral is a great spot to visit, whether you are in search of a tranquil weekend with your loved one, or a new adventure with the kids. It's always great to have modern amenities, with the access and ability to take in the nature, and beautiful scenery that surrounds you.
