Concurso de Paellas 2013

We attended the concurso de Palleas at Viñas de Liceaga, which is held to signify the closing of the vendimias festivities in Valle de Guadalupe. With the sun shining brightly, and the summer heat in full force, the canopy of trees above us could not have been more right. A nice shade, and light breeze made both sipping white and red wines throughout the afternoon make perfect sense. It's always a delight to try new wineries, and see upcoming projects in Mexico's wine country starting to show their faces. Of course the event is also about the vibrant and colorful pans bursting to the brim with paella from the different competitors. It's a delightful experience being able to try the different variations, and flavors from each of the separate booths. An afternoon spent indulging in local wines, and food, will always be a winner in my book.
