Suculenta — A new neighbor drops-in at Tijuana's new little 'beer city'
The craft beer scene at Tijuana's Plaza Fiesta is more present than ever. It's so great watching this space develop, and expand into it's own little 'beer city' per se. We were thrilled when our friend America came to us gushing about her newest project that she's involved in called, Suculenta. Cerveza Fauna's Brewmaster Alejandro and America running the kitchen side of it, have joined forces to bring this quaint eatery/tasting room to life.

The white interiors are filled with warmth from the wooden tables and furniture, and studded with succulent greenery throughout the space. As soon as we grabbed a spot, I started envisioning the warm summer evenings that could happily unfold there. I gave Antonio the reigns of ordering the brews and bites for the afternoon. Out came icy cold pints of Fauna's "Tristan" Belgian blonde ale, and a steady flow of dishes. A trio of tostadas consisting of beet ceviche, jicama & chorizo, and fish of the day. Each of them were so delicious, and I definitely need to put jicama and chorizo together more often. The textures are delightful!
There was snacking on Charales in between sips of beer, and an order of queso añejo/pork sausage, and pork en salsa verde torta that hit the table as well. We refrained from ordering every dish on the menu, but successfully managed to try a wide variety of items. The menu can change daily, depending on what is available locally and in season at the time.
Congratulations on this new adventure! So excited to witness all of the new projects coming together at Plaza Fiesta. Perfect for the upcoming summer season.
