Puesto: A taco party for the entire family

When planning our family trips, food and drink stops are always at the top of the list. We map out the city we are visiting, and mark each and every spot we are dying to try. If you plan to visit our sunny San Diego with the little ones, a must-have food item here is tacos.

Looking for the ideal restaurant in San Diego, where both adults and the kiddos can have a great time, is a win-win situation. Meet Puesto. No stranger to lovers of all things involving modern Mexican cuisine. As if this spot didn’t already entice us with their fresh blue corn tortillas. So fresh, you can literally see them being prepared through the large glass windows at their location at The Headquarters near Seaport Village. 

Puesto has officially relaunched their kids menu, which now includes mini fresh flour or blue corn tortillas. They can choose from the Mix & Match taco choices like carnitas, veggie, and chicken, which also includes black beans and cilantro lime rice, for just $10. You know what’s even better than that? For the remaining Sundays for the month of October, kids eat FREE at all locations. The fave around here were the carnitas mini tacos, and the refreshing Jamaica (hibiscus) agua fresca. 

Okay, adults you are totally included in this fun dining experience as well. Think mango margaritas, frozen horchata (spiked too, if that’s your thing), and dishes like the Mexican street bowl of fruit piled high and slathered in lime juice, chamoy, and Tajin. Order up tacos filled with filet mignon, lobster, cactus and zucchini, and al pastor. Seal the deal with a favorite amongst both the littles and the adults with their chocolate ice cream sandwich taco, and if you happen to be there on a Friday, the churro eclairs are also delightful. Cinnamon sugar dusted eclair shells filled with seasonal flavors like pumpkin, and s’mores.
