Apple Picking in Julian
I have been wanting to go up to Julian for a couple of years now, but we didn't actually make it up there until now. Fall has officially started, and making the drive to go and pick apples just sounded so right. Giovanni is almost a year old now, and even though he didn't really participate besides pointing and trying to grab everything, I still thought that he would have fun. The weather was still pretty warm, so I didn't get the whole overall feeling of "Fall is in the air" quite yet. It was a new and fun experience, and I would love to make the trip back sometime soon. You pay $10 and you get your white bag and roam the apple orchards at your own pace. It was a Saturday, and there were quite a bit of people there, but you don't feel crowded at all. Everyone goes their own way, and you can actually enjoy the whole apple picking adventure. Another reason to return would be the fact that we didn't get to try any of the beautiful Apple Pies like you see at the bottom of this post. We wanted to stop in Mom's, but unfortunately the line was really long, and we didn't get around to it. Now I have a bag full of apples that I must use. The wheels are spinning, and I can't wait to see or taste what I decide to make with them.
