Checking in: Diving into The Pearl in San Diego's Point Loma

While visiting the The Pearl Hotel in the beautiful Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego, it felt as if we had landed in Palm Springs, versus just a close 25 minutes from home. Enjoying a staycation at this swanky boutique hotel, with its mid century modern design aesthetic, and cool coastal vibes, could not have been more pleasant. We traveled with the littles in tow, and they both immediately felt at home. Our room even housed a Beta fish named “Bruce Lee”, whom they were more than sure to say goodnight, and good morning to during our stay. I loved the airy feeling that the room gave off. The bright blues, crisp white bed linens, and clean lines are perfect for blending right into the property’s surrounding areas.

As you enter the hotel, you will be greeted by the beautiful bar and lounge area. Happy Hour has $1 oysters, that we absolutely could not turn down. The kids grabbed a seat on the shag carpet next to the board games, and the Rock'em Sock'em robot matches were well under weigh, before Antonio could even slurp down his first briny beauty of an oyster.

A dip in the pool is also completely necessary, especially during the warmer months here in San Diego. They also host free weekly ‘dive-in’ movie nights as well, which to me sounds like a perfect night out on the town. This gem of a hotel is a wonderful spot to stay whether you are a local looking for a place to escape reality for a bit, or traveling in from out of town, and looking for some unique and stylish digs to call “home.”
